"This work was created in collaboration with classical guitarist Daniel Ramjattan, upon discovering we both have a passion for exploring mental wellness in contemporary classical music practice. SOON explores the act of self care for musicians, as it relates to how we care for ourselves in times of crisis. Inspired by a musician rekindling their love of their instrument and creating music for fun, this intimate work guides the guitarist through exploring beautiful and delicate sounds and gestures, being present, listening mindfully to these sounds, and taking comfort in their practice."
